Independence Day Weekend in Cologne

Heading to Cologne, Germany to see the gorgeous Dom, one of THE most amazing Gothic Cathedrals in the world, took six centuries to build and survived 14 bombings during WWII
Eugene and I enjoying the amazing interior... and a respite from the heat... the little gold thing behind Eugene is the Shrine of the Magi which holds some of their remains... making Cologne famous... helps when your Archbishop's brother is the Emperor
Absolutely amazing Dom!

Eugene and I getting pretty good at Self Cams

It's so huge its impossible to get the whole Dom... pictures don't do it justice

I felt a large drop on my head...

When the forecasts said no clouds... there suddenly was "weird rain" that turned into a freak thunderstorm that turned into a hail storm... Eugene and I taking cover in the temporary tent ... before the wood broke from the weight of the wood and landed on top of us... where we then got soaked running for cover.... exciting...

But then we got to watch the World Cup Qrt Finals in a German Pub with Germans... good beer and applestreudel... my favorite!

Germany vs Argentina 4 - 0.... Great Game to see in Germany!

Schokoladen Museum...the Chocolat Museum cohosted by Lindt.... did you know Lindt, Ferro Roche and Richter are German companies? And that Kit Kat and Twix are German inventions?

Without knowing it... we were there for one of THE largest Gay Pride Parades in Europe

End our trip with a walk along the Rhine and some ice cream... An exciting trip to say the least!
